Job Title: Key Account Manager-Off Premise

Position Reports To: Senior Director National Accounts

Position Location/Territory: Southern California (or major city on west coast)

Position Objectives: This role is responsible for the execution of Santa Margherita USA Inc. Brand Priorities with National & Regional Off Premise Accounts by collaborating with Senior Director National Accounts Off Premise and district sales managers to ensure corporate objectives are achieved.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Director to develop action plans for National & Regional Accounts
      ○ To enhance depletions and expand distribution opportunities
  • Penetrate key accounts and develop high level business relationship
  • Develop relationships with Key Account Managers at the distributor level to ensure SM USA Inc. priorities are achieved
  • Conduct distributor chain team meetings-to inform Key Account managers about corporate programming and objectives and ensure planner execution
  • Collaborate with district sales managers in their respective markets
      ○  to execute national and regional programs
      ○ to identify regional chain opportunities
  • Proficient in analyzing and using sales data (including depletions and syndicated data) to effectively manage business within assigned accounts and to identify and sell-in incremental business opportunities
  • Keep team members informed of market trends and competitive activities
  • Monitor the retail trends and developments as it relates to key accounts to manage current business and identify new selling opportunities
  • Develop fact based selling tools
  • Monitor pricing and financial objectives of both SM USA and the customers
  • Conduct market work “withs” with distributor chain managers and key account managers
  • Participate in trade market activities in the region

Additional Skills and/or Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of related wine industry experience with off premise key accounts
  • Keen understanding of the three-tier distribution system
  • Must be able to recognize and solve problems
  • Must possess strong time management skills with an ability to work independently as well as a team environment to collaborate and achieve assigned goals and objectives
  • Excellent communication skills: with ability to negotiate and gain commitment
  • Willing to travel with overnight stays as needed
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
